Luna’s SERVAL KITTENS

Three serval kittens were born February 27, 2024. Dam is Luna and Sire is Oz. Father, Oz, carries for blue eyes, a very rare trait in servals, so it is possible that these kitten may have blue eyes. These kittens are being bottle fed and hand reared by me in my home since birth. Please make sure that serval ownership is allowed in your state and that you have a veterinarian who is able to provide future medial care before you inquire.

Once You’ve Selected A Kitten

A 50% deposit, payable by check or Venmo, will reserve your kitten. Please contact me with your preferred method so I can confirm receipt.

  • Provide your name, address and phone number.
  • Establish your method of delivery. Will you be picking up your kitten? If you are traveling from a long distance, I’m agreeable to meeting at a secure, mid-point location that we establish together. Or, do you want your kitten shipped? Please provide the airport they are to be sent to once he/she is ready to travel.
  • Once your deposit is received, I will send you a copy of the Deposit Agreement to keep for your records. I will, also, mark your kitten “Sold” on my website.
  • You will want to contact you veterinarian as soon as you have made your deposit to schedule your kittens spay/neuter appointment.

I will keep you informed of your kitten’s progress and provide photos every couple of weeks. During these progress reports we will establish pickup/delivery dates and I encourage your questions as you prepare for your fur-baby’s arrival.

Serval Kitten Requirements and Information

  • Must be legal to own in your state.
  • Verify that your veterinarian will provide medical care for servals. They do require special vaccines and anesthesia.
  • Servals require extra mental and physical stimulation–like most pets, they will be naughty if they get bored.
  • Outdoor enclosures are a must. Enclosures must have an attached top to prevent jumping or climbing out. They can be in many forms–lanai, screened patio, catio, wire fenced cage, etc…. Your kitten won’t need to be outside until they are almost a year old. Until then, just make sure they get lots of sunlight (necessary for proper development) and exercise. Outdoor spaces are the best location for litter boxes.
  • Have you done your research? Servals are not like a domestic cat. A few ‘hot topics’ about owning them are: They require two litter boxes–they will not poo where they pee. All servals will spray even if spayed or neutered. Servals require a special diet.
  • I cannot sell to you if you rent–you must own your home. Likewise, if you have an HOA, please verify with your board before you get your heart set on serval–they may have rules about owning exotic pets and/or the outside enclosure.
  • Your serval kitten will come to you hand raised–eating solids, bathroom/litter training started, and socialized–you will need to continue the feeding routine that is established; work with your kitten on bathroom training; and patiently develop a trust and bond between you and your kitten.
  • Servals need time to bond with you. Will you be able to take vacation time or work from home for at least the first week of them entering your home? This is the most important time for a serval kitten, and they will need you to comfort and train them. The first week is a minimum of needed constant interaction. It may take several weeks for them to bond with you.
  • This is NOT a housecat. Servals can be great companion animals but their care is a commitment–if any of these points are worrisome, then a serval is probably not right for you at this time. Please contact your breeder for assistance.

Shipping or Delivery

  • If you require having your kitten shipped, full payment plus shipping expenses is required prior to their flight date–this method may not be available at certain times of the year.
  • I offer a fly-in service for pickup: You can fly into Chicago OHare Airport; I will meet you there with your kitten; then you can fly home with your kitten as “Pet carry-on”. Buyer is responsible for purchasing round trip flight ticket plus Pet carry-on one way fee from you airline.
  • Your kitten must be at least 10 weeks of age before they can be shipped; 12 weeks is preferred. When he/she is ready to travel, I will notify you that their flight has been booked.
  • Once you arrive home with your kitten and get settled in, I ask that you contact me and let me know how things are going. I urge to call or text me if you have any questions or problems. Also, I love, love, love getting pictures back and seeing how beautiful your new family member has become.
